What to Expect at Taiwan Immigration

  1. 1

    Passport Scan

Immigration officers scan your passport. The system automatically retrieves your TWAC data linked to your passport number.

  2. 2

    QR Code Check (if requested)

In most cases no manual check is needed. If the officer requests your QR code, show it on your phone or as a printout.

  3. 3

    Customs Declaration

After immigration clearance, proceed to customs. Declare items over NT$35,000, cash over NT$100,000, or restricted goods.

Some airlines verify your TWAC at the check-in counter or boarding gate. If you cannot show the QR code, you may be denied boarding. Complete the TWAC and save the QR code before heading to the airport.

Save QR Code Offline

Screenshot or download the QR code. Airport Wi-Fi exists but is unreliable for first-time use.
