The Taiwan Arrival Card (TWAC) is a free, mandatory digital entry declaration issued by Taiwan's National Immigration Agency (NIA). It officially replaced the paper immigration arrival card on October 1, 2025.
After completing the form online at twac.immigration.gov.tw, you receive a unique QR code by email immediately. At immigration, officers scan your passport to automatically retrieve your TWAC data - no need to present the QR code unless specifically asked.
The form takes 5–10 minutes and can be submitted up to 7 days before arrival. It is available in 7 languages: English, Traditional Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese, and Indonesian.

Go to the official TWAC portal at twac.immigration.gov.tw and select your preferred language. Click Submit Arrival Card to begin.
Enter your full legal name, date of birth, nationality, and passport details. Then add your travel details - flight number, airline, arrival date, port of entry, departure date, and purpose of visit. Enter your full accommodation address (hotel name and address, or host's name, address, and phone number).
If visiting relatives, you will need their full name and a Taiwanese mobile number. Visa holders enter their visa number and expiry date. For group travel, you can add up to 15 additional travelers in the same submission.
After you submit your TWAC, a confirmation email is sent immediately. This email contains your QR code, which serves as your proof of submission.

When you arrive at a Taiwan international airport or seaport, show your QR code to the immigration officer. Your passport scan will automatically retrieve your TWAC data from the system. No additional paperwork is required.

Yes - one person can complete and submit the TWAC for a group of up to 16 travelers in a single submission. This is useful for families, tour groups, and group travelers.
Each traveler in the group will receive their own individual QR code sent to the email address provided for that traveler. To submit for a group, you will need each person's passport details, email address, accommodation information, and travel itinerary.
Most travelers complete the Taiwan digital arrival card in approximately 5–10 minutes. Have your passport, flight details, and accommodation address ready before you begin to keep the process as quick as possible.
